Finally adding pictures.

I’ve decided to make separate pages for each basic room/project. Since we’ve already lived here a year, it’s pointless to do it chronologically. We’ve also skipped around a bit in the projects as it wasn’t simply ‘start at the top and work our way down.’ So, if you’ll kindly find the sidebar menu to the right, you can view each project.

Project 2010 and beyond…

Well, I’ve been meaning to start this blog for awhile now. The goal is to have a photodiary of our remodel project to share with friends and family.

House history: Built in 1966-67, the house is set on a quiet cul-de-sac that backs up to a creek. The neighborhood is a collection of brick ranches, 2-stories and split levels. The houses look similar on the outside, but in speaking to the neighbors, it’s apparent they are all different layouts on the inside. Ours is a split level with 4 bedrooms, 2 and half baths and basement. We bought the home from the original owners who lived here until 2008. When speaking to the owner’s daughter, we learned that her mom hired a decorator to do the whole house. We actually found the paperwork from the order. $5000 for decorating. Pretty hefty bill in late ’60s! However, they certainly got their money’s worth since that was the last time anything was done to the house!

Our project: To upgrade the house to new century! Every room has to be touched in one way or another. There are bathrooms with pink, yellow and beige fixtures for god’s sake. We planned on starting at the top and working our way down, but there have been some detours along the way. All is takes is blood, sweat and the almighty dollar!
